This is a great low-carb alternative for tater tots. They bake up rather nice but if you’re craving that extra crunch, then try pan frying them.


1 Medium head of cauliflower
2 Tablespoons heavy cream
2 Tablespoons butter
1/3 Cup Romano cheese
4 Egg whites
Garlic powder
Onion Powder
Salt & pepper (to taste)
Olive oil (for frying)
Optional: Marinara (for serving)
Preheat oven to 375.
Wash and trim your cauliflower. I used an orange cauliflower, which worked well and really festive for fall.
 Cover cauliflower with water in a pan and boil on medium-high heat for 10 minutes, then strain cauliflower.
Combine cauliflower, heavy cream, cheese, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder and egg whites in a food processor. Blend until you get a smooth mixture.
Place mixture in a large plastic bag with a 1 inch snip off a corner and gently squeeze out 1 inch sections onto a greased cookie sheet.
Bake for 12 minutes, half-way turn over or until golden browned at 400 degrees..
Ta DAAAA!!! This is the finished low carb product, served with a side of marina or ketchup!! MMMMM Enjoy!
